We continue in the Sierra del Rincón visiting now Horcajuelo de la Sierra. This town rises in the foothills of the massif of Ayllón, in Somosierra. It is located at the confluence of two streams, the Garita and Grande. The village offers an original aspect, since its urban structure has been maintained. It also has an ecologically interesting environment for the enjoyment of nature. Its typical product is honey.

We continue in the Sierra del Rincón visiting this time the quiet village of Montejo de la Sierra. It is a town of great scenic and ecological richness. In the 14th century it was called Montejo del Rincón. Located between mountains and with the beech forest of Montejo as a mountain of natural interest, the villagers abandoned the battered rural economy for the economy of natural and rural tourism services. Typical of the place is the liquor of the Sierra Norte, honey and pollen.

We move on to the Lower Lozoya Valley to visit Berzosa del Lozoya. The village is located in a steep terrain, on the slope of the hill known today as the Mujer Muerta in the massif of Ayllón. The Lozoya river crosses the municipality and the El Villar reservoir, one of the first reservoirs that were built to supply Madrid, is located within its boundaries. It is typical the slaughter on the day of San Martin.

In order to plan your getaway, we are going to talk about these villages, differentiating the three that make up a more uniform architectural ensemble with stone houses, and others that are worth visiting for specific architectural or patrimonial nooks and crannies.

In your walk through Puebla de la Sierra you will see beautiful corners of this type of architecture, as well as its beautiful church of the Conception of the seventeenth century, which also combines dark stone with wood, with entrance through a porch and bell tower with terrace.

Also in the Sierra del Rincón, and next to the border with the province of Guadalajara, La Hiruela is perhaps the most visited village in this area of the Community of Madrid, and is located an hour and a half from Madrid.
