We continue in the Sierra del Rincón visiting now Horcajuelo de la Sierra. This town rises in the foothills of the massif of Ayllón, in Somosierra. It is located at the confluence of two streams, the Garita and Grande. The village offers an original aspect, since its urban structure has been maintained. It also has an ecologically interesting environment for the enjoyment of nature. Its typical product is honey.

We continue in the Sierra del Rincón visiting this time the quiet village of Montejo de la Sierra. It is a town of great scenic and ecological richness. In the 14th century it was called Montejo del Rincón. Located between mountains and with the beech forest of Montejo as a mountain of natural interest, the villagers abandoned the battered rural economy for the economy of natural and rural tourism services. Typical of the place is the liquor of the Sierra Norte, honey and pollen.

We move on to the Lower Lozoya Valley to visit Berzosa del Lozoya. The village is located in a steep terrain, on the slope of the hill known today as the Mujer Muerta in the massif of Ayllón. The Lozoya river crosses the municipality and the El Villar reservoir, one of the first reservoirs that were built to supply Madrid, is located within its boundaries. This locality is part of the route of the black architecture because all the buildings are made of slate. In this place there are many vestiges of prehistoric times, including remains from the Paleolithic era and the Iron and Bronze Ages. It is worth strolling through its cobbled streets full of slopes and visiting the old hermitage, the Ecomuseum of the Slate, the Church of San José, the fountain and the washhouse. It is another of the villages of the Sierra de Madrid that you can not miss as it hides a great historical wealth.

This municipality is located in the wonderful Valle Medio del Lozoya, in the Sierra de Guadarrama. Declared a Historic-Artistic Site and of Cultural Interest, it has several points of interest such as the castle, its walls, which are a National Monument since 1931, and impressive natural pools.

It is another of the villages in the mountains of Madrid that you have to include in your route. This town is quite unknown, but highly recommended because it preserves its architectural heritage almost intact.
